Sinopse:
O título "Akai Ito" ou "Linha Vermelha" significa, na cultura japonesa, o laço existente entre duas pessoas. Um laço que não está ao alcance de nossos olhos, mas que nos mantém conectados através de sentimentos.
Durante a primavera do segundo ano do ginásio, Mei encerra uma paixão por causa de uma decepção amorosa. Nesse momento, ela conhece Atsushi, dono de uma gentileza silenciosa. Os dois fazem aniversário no mesmo dia, 29 de fevereiro.
Mas o que eles não sabiam é que já haviam se conhecido anos atrás.
"Você acredita em destino?", "Acredito sim".
Acreditando nessas palavras, Mei achava que esse amor seria eterno.
Porém, quando Atsushi descobre o passado triste existente entre os dois, ele desaparece. E, coincidentemente, com o seu desaparecimento, acontecem várias coisas na vida de Mei.
